Hello again,
time to drop you all a line, even
though we have been very quiet, musically.
First-up, it is with great sadness
that I advise you of the passing of REX THURGOOD, who for
several years was the organizer for the Stroke Foundation
concerts in Hamilton, Rex having himself suffered a stroke,
and Noelene and I were asked to perform at some of those
concerts, Rex was the twin brother of Ray Thurgood, who

folks, Look at it, we are into April already. Time sure does fly
when you are having fun or just very busy with life and doing the
everyday things that have to be done. Do hope that this Newsletter
finds each and every one of you well.
I am just getting over a severe bout of bronchitis and it
sure knocked me for a 'sixer' however I am ok now. Thank Goodness.

FOUNTAIN CITY COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB inc April 2012 News Letter
Greetings to all, On Saturday 21 st April we will be having a Special day time Con-cert at the Bible Chapel Te Awamutu starting at 1pm as a Tribute Show to the late Ken Rangi. As you know Ken Passed away on November 12th last year after a brief illness which shocked us all.Ken was a very talented drummer and shared his talents not only on the ValRay Shows but by being the drummer for the following Country Music Clubs, Te Awa-mutu Country Variety Club Inc, Pirongia Country music, Fountain City Country Music, Cambridge Country Music, Cambridge Friendship Club, Glen Afton Coun-try Music, and also for Ngaruawahia Country Variety Club, Ken and his wife Daisy gave a lot to Country Music and by holding a Tribute To Ken Show will be a showing of Love and Respect for both who were held in very High Esteem not only by our local clubs but by all who knew this truly Great Man and wonderful Wife.So we are asking that the Clubs that Ken supported support this concert 21 st April 2012, starting at 1pm.We would like to have as many singers from the clubs as possible but remember

last few weeks. The lawns are growing really fast and the WEEDS? Well I guess we just have to grin and bear
it aye. Still I hope you are all like Malc and I and thankful
that we can make the most of all our time together.

Rex and Noelene Franklin- newsletter January
2012.
Hello all, and a great 2012 to you.
In our first newsletter for the
year, we have something of real interest, we think.
On the 30th of December, we caught
the plane to Auckland, on a very wet day. We flew through heavy
cloud, and the weather was just as bad on arrival at the
Auckland airport, we were the last two off the plane, because a
severe cramp had chosen just that moment to make itself known,
and Noelene was taken off on a wheel chair!
She was given the first-class
treatment, the cramp eventually wore-off, and we were free to
board a much smaller plane on the next step on our journey.
The rain was still hosing down, and
we arrived in Whangarei to more of the same.
Our host Phil Godfrey kindly met us
at the airport, and drove us to his Dargaville, where we waited
